Benson Masaa
Benson Masaa is a Kenyan visual artist whose creative journey began in an environment where imagination and creativity were central to everyday life. From an early age, making art became a way to pass time, planting the foundation for a deeper artistic pursuit. His practice took a defining turn in high school, where he formally studied Art and Design. During this period, his understanding of visual expression expanded, and his technical abilities developed with intention and discipline. Masaa developed a strong connection to graphite, a medium he continues to explore and refine. Working at the intersection of surrealism and realism, Masaa’s art engages philosophical ideas and narratives drawn from everyday life. His compositions often balance the familiar with the imagined, inviting viewers to reflect, question, and feel. Through his work, Masaa seeks to provoke thought, stir emotion, and entertain—creating visual stories that linger beyond first glance.
