Jaber John Diang’a is a Kenyan visual artist and Fine Art student at Kenyatta University, pursuing a Bachelor of Art in Fine Art and Design. His relationship with art began in childhood, sketching everyday life, chickens, cows, and familiar scenes, often as classroom assignments. Drawing came naturally to him, never as a challenge, but for a long time, never imagined as a career. The turning point came through the influence of his older brother, an accomplished artist who helped Jaber see art not just as a skill, but as a professional path. After completing high school, during a period marked by uncertainty and frustration, Jaber returned fully to art, choosing creation over stagnation. Through consistent practice, mentorship, and self-discipline, his work evolved steadily. What began as a way to stay productive grew into a committed artistic journey. Now in his fourth year as a practicing professional artist, Jaber’s work reflects growth, persistence, and a deeprooted connection to drawing as both expression and purpose.
